A$AP Rocky Fan Plummets From Stage Tower During New Year’s Show
An A$AP Rocky fannarrowly avoided grave injury when he plummeted from a stage tower at Perth, Australia’s sold-out Origin festival. The New York rapper, a headliner alongside Wiz Khalifa, called attention as soon as he noticed the fan’s legs dangling above him. “Hey, somebody help this kid before he kill himself,” Rocky said, just seconds prior to the fall.
The fan was trying to reach from one lighting truss to another, but he missed, falling into a space on the ground that festival organizer Saran Bajaj cleared to keep him from hurting anyone else. Immediately, A$AP jumped off the stage to inspect him; moments later, the fan responded by reaching for his arm. Bajaj later called it “disappointing” that the fan slipped past security officers, while an Australian police minister says she observed otherwise “very good behaviour” at Origin.
