Lily Allen Floats Away On “Air Balloon”: Listen

The self-proclaimed bitch is back. Lily Allen today (January 13) debuted her playful new song “Air Balloon,” which she co-wrote with the mighty Shellback. It’s a fittingly lightweight arrangement, and features more of her gum-snapping pop chants and some delightfully loopy lyrics (“Did I ever tell you my uncle’s monkey ran away from the zoo?”…”Kurt Cobain is up in my face. How the hell am I going to tell him Elvis already took first base?”).

It isn’t a smack in the face like “Hard Out Here” — in fact it almost feels like a lost Ting Tings cut — but that seems to be the point, allowing you to sit back and explore it like the titular balloon ride. Hear it below, and keep an eye out for another new song from Allen on Girls in the near future.
