Outkast To Start Work On New Album, According To Queen Latifah

The question on everyone’s mind now that Outkast have planned a comeback campaign of 40 festival dates is whether Andre 3000 and Big Boi will be putting any new music on wax. Because we are greedy. Well, if their former manager Queen Latifah is to be believed, they’ve got plans for a new album. Also, Queen Latifah used to manage Outkast!

Latifah was on The Howard Stern Show Monday (January 13) when she let slip the news about fresh material from the Coachella headliners. But to be honest, it doesn’t sound very credible, since she pretty much seemed out of the loop with the duo’s latest goings-on, including the announcement of their reunion dates. So proceed with caution: Stern asked Latifah what happened to the duo, and she said, “They’re chilling… They’re doing movies… They’re about to work on a new album.”

As Consequence of Sound points out, this goes against a Revolt TV report that claimed the ATLien reunion is “set to exist solely in the live setting, with no new album plans in sight, for now.”
