Colbie Caillat Gets Spiritual In “Hold On” Video: Watch

Colbie Caillat has been celebrating Christmas in the sand, well, all year long, but the songstress is back with “Hold On,” a new single helmed by Ryan Tedder that premiered late last year — and now she’s unveiled the video for the track, which sees her channeling her inner goddess in a big, cheesy moonlit jungle sequence.

Yes, there’s a lot of melancholy face-caressing, and Caillat surrounded by dancers in a pool of water against a rotating skyscape with a spectacular fake moon, and then she kinda crowd-surfs on the dancers as they lift her body to the sky. How grand! It’s not the easiest video in the world to take seriously, but the song is very solid — a wonderful midtempo jam with an ultra-catchy chorus — and it’s nice to see the guitar-pop princess tackling something with a little more crunch.
