Birdy Debuts New “Skinny Love” Video, Announces US Tour Dates
Birdy broke big internationally in 2011 with a cover of Bon Iver‘s “Skinny Love” — topping the charts in countries as diverse as New Zealand and the Netherlands. Three years have passed but time hasn’t wearied the impact of the 17-year-old’s haunting rendition. In fact, it has been selected to spearhead her US campaign and just got a striking new video (above).
Directed by Sophie Muller, “Skinny Love” 2.0 is a suitably somber affair. The simple black-and-white clip focuses on the Brit’s expressive face as she belts out the seemingly timeless ballad in an English pub. Birdy’s signature song can be found on her Breathe EP, which precedes the release of Fire Within in North America later this year.
In other exciting Birdy news, the teen will support Christina Perri on her spring tour starting April 4 in Denver and winding up in Vancouver on May 26. See all the tour dates after the jump.
