And for anyone who was hoping to see Miley dial back the ridiculousness and focus on the music, well, we hate to break it to you but her set was rife with little people, a two-man horse, myriad wigs and outfits and, of course, so much tongue wagging and “controversial” (?) grinding.
Still, though, the music managed to stand out, thanks to her twanged up (but still turnt up) versions of her Bangerz tracks, plus a creative mashup of “Don’t Tell Me”/”We Can’t Stop” with Madonna and a honky tonk rendition of Dolly Parton‘s “Jolene”.
