Stream Broods’ Debut EP & See Their First US Tour Dates

New Zealand sibling duo Broods — made up of singer Georgia Nott and multi-intstrumentalist Caleb Nott — are streaming their excellent debut EP on Soundcloud ahead of its February 4 release. The self-titled project pushes further into the elegantly ethereal territory explored on “Bridges” and “Never Gonna Change” (which are both on the EP), and with the help of breakout Lorde producer Joel Little, they’ve managed to construct songs that are lush and smoky, undulating and jittery. This type of tension gives the material a distinctly Scandinavian feel.

“Taking You There,” a beautiful standout among standouts, features a hypnotic chorus in which vocal tremolos, synth pads, fingerpicked guitars and piano plinks swirl together into a dreamy potion, showing that while Broods share DNA with acts like London Grammar, Lorde and The xx, they have forged their own path on this impressive debut.
