All those up for statues at the 25th GLAAD Media Awards were announced today, and altogether 93 nominees made the cut. The gay media-monitoring organization stages the annual event to honor outstanding representations of the LGBT community in areas of music, movies, TV, and web and print journalism.

In the Outstanding Music Artist category, gay rights advocate Lady Gaga and her troubled (though apparently back-on-track) album ARTPOP are up against releases by Tegan And Sara (Heartthrob), Elton John (The Diving Board), Goldfrapp (Tales Of Us) and Vampire Weekend (Modern Vampires Of The City). Personally, it would be great to see Goldfrapp win here for the duo’s rich, orchestral sixth studio LP.

Other categories where pop is represented this time around in the GLAAD nominations include Outstanding Comedy series, where Glee will face off with Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Modern Family, Orange Is The New Black and Please Like Me. Also, WEtv’s Cyndi Lauper: Still So Unusual and Fuse’s Big Freedia: Queen Of Bounce are up for Outstanding Reality Series.

Two ceremonies will be held for the GLAAD Media Awards in 2014: One at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton Hotel on April 12 and one at New York City’s Waldorf Astoria on May 3.
