Jay Leno Pokes Fun At Justin Bieber In Final ‘Tonight Show’ Monologue: Watch

As Jay Leno bid farewell to The Tonight Show, the late-night staple that he’s hosted on and off for 22 years, he lightened the mood by taking aim at Justin Bieber. “When I started hosting, Justin Bieber wasn’t even born yet,” he said. “That’s why we call those the good old days.”

As proof, Leno segued into a recent report that Bieber and his entourage filled a private jet with so much marijuana smoke, pilots had to wear oxygen masks to prevent a contact high. His suggestion? Fly on Snoop Dogg‘s jet, instead. Actor Billy Crystal, one of Leno’s first-ever guests, returned to Tonight to chime in during his own monologue.

“You were America’s nightlight,” Crystal said to Leno. “You helped us through good times and bad. The country would stay up at night for the monologue, to hear the news from your perspective. When it was announced recently that America’s number one domestic terrorist had been captured, who told us it was Justin Bieber? The Believe pop star was hardly Leno’s only target, though. In one skit, President Barack Obama and presidential nominee Mitt Romney grin and kick their feet up in the back of a minivan, as inspired by the slew of minivan karaoke sessions to Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe.” And in other news, actor Hugh Grant had apparently fathered three children with two different women.

“How ironic is that? I end my run the same way it began, asking Hugh Grant, ‘What the hell were you thinking?'” Leno said. Turns out, those old days weren’t all good, after all.
