Need More Food? Kelis Goes Hard On Angry New Track “Rumble”: Listen

If lead single “Jerk Ribs” and new cut “Rumble” are any indication, Kelis is going for a raw, percussive R&B sound on much-anticipated new LP Food. It’s a major change of pace from her flirtation with EDM on Flesh Tone but you can’t help but feel that this is a more natural fit for the ever-evolving diva.

So what can you expect from Kelis’ latest dish? Well, “Rumble” is another slow burn R&B anthem about that grey area in relationships between love and hate that unfolds smoothly over warm piano and horns. It’s more immediate than “Jerk Ribs”, largely due to the master chef’s emotional vocal that swings wildly between angry and pleading. Get your fill after the jump.
