Miley Cyrus’ “Adore You” Gets A Thumping Cedric Gervais Remix: Listen

Miley Cyrus has tapped Cedric Gervais to remix “Adore You”, which is struggling to impact the Billboard Hot 100 like previous singles “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball”. No doubt, she’s hoping the French DJ can pull the same trick he did with Lana Del Rey‘s “Summer Sadness”, which exploded almost a year after release due to his slick EDM overhaul.

While both songs share a similar down-tempo moodiness in their original formats, Lana’s ballad was darker and gloomier. That made the dance transformation somehow easier to swallow because it was still essentially a sad song despite the swooshing synths. “Adore You”, on the other hand, is a saccharine love song made great by Miley’s husky vocal and minimal production. The remix just makes it sound cheesy.

Having said all that, I wouldn’t switch channels if it came on the radio. Listen after the jump.
