The revival of Toni Braxton and Babyface has been one of the feel-good music stories of 2014. Their sublime duets LP Love, Marriage & Divorce debuts at number four on the Billboard 200 this week and they continue to deliver knock-out performances on talk shows — bringing emotional lead single “Hurt You” to Conan last night (February 11).
As usual, the R&B legends were on point. Toni and Babyface began the performance sitting opposite each, letting their powerful pipes run free before getting to their feet for the mid-tempo chorus. From their sophisticated outfits to the understated musical arrangement, everything about this reeked of class. Watch the reinvigorated hitmakers work their magic up top.
