Lorde just keeps on soaring. Last month the New Zealand chart force picked up Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance Grammys for her Pure Heroine smash “Royals,” and that single’s follow-up, “Team,” is now lodged in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Further cementing her status as the hip and fashionable pop star du jour, glossy V has slapped the teen on one of its four Music Issue covers.

Wearing a Chanel dress, Lorde was photographed for the mag by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin — aka the artistic pair of snapped Lady Gaga‘s nude shoot for the same publication last summer.

During her interview for V, Lorde has the common sense to laugh off comparisons to Nirvana: “Oh, come on! I’m sure so many people will read that and be like, ‘Fuck off!”

She also says she’d like radio to ease up on playing her songs so much: “I’d like to give people a little bit of breathing room before I unleash something different.”

Hmmm — careful what you wish for, Lorde.
