Foster The People Cover Calvin Harris’ Dance Smash “Under Control”: Listen

Foster The People made a welcome return earlier this year with new single “Coming Of Age” and immediately hit the road to hype it (and their much-anticipated sophomore set Supermodel). The promo blitz took the band to London where they dropped by Zane Lowe‘s BBC Radio 1 show and performed an unexpected cover of Calvin Harris and Alesso‘s club anthem “Under Control”.

While not a crossover radio hit in America, the brooding floorfiller reached number one in the UK and blew up across Europe. Mark Foster and friends turn the angry EDM monster into an atmospheric pop/rock experiment. “Under Control” survives the genre transplant fully intact and thrives in its new soundscape. Listen to the band’s excellent interpretation after the jump.
