50 Cent Returns With “The Funeral”: Watch
The newly indie 50 Cent has dropped the first taste of his forthcoming album Animal Ambition, a day after announcing he was leaving Shady/Aftermath. Considering its significance as the beginning of a new phase of Fiddy’s career, “The Funeral” is fairly innocuous. Not that it isn’t good (it is!), it’s just not a “spectacle,” which is kind of refreshing.
“The Funeral” is a brooding ghetto tale about the fallout from a shootout, including vengeance, mourning and family drama, with 50 spitting over an old school boom-bap. The video was directed by Eif Rivera, check it out up top.
Animal Ambition is out June 3.
