Ellie Goulding’s “Beating Heart”: Watch The ‘Divergent’ Track’s Lyric Video
Ellie Goulding has four songs on the very buzzworthy Divergent soundtrack, and after previewing “Beating Heart” the song is now out with a lyric video comprising scenes from the film. “Beating Heart” starts off with the same sort of twinkling synths heard in her breakout song “Lights,” and from there you get the familiar mix of warm, lush atmospherics that are just ever so danceable, a sweet spot Goulding has mastered at this point.
Her voice sounds a tad more British than usual, and while the song is more subdued than “Burn,” the chorus (“Wanna hear your beating heart tonight / Before the bleeding sun comes alive”) is still anthemic. Check it out below.
