Skrillex Pulls A Beyonce: Stream His Surprise Debut Album ‘Recess’ In Full

Skrillex pulled a Beyonce, dropping his (debut) album Recess at roughly 3 a.m. ET early this morning (March 11). Well, it’s available for streaming — the actual release date is March 18. Yes, after a couple Grammy wins for the DJ/producer and what feels like an eternity of brostep-soundtracked movie trailers spawned in his image, this is Skrillex’s first proper album. Featured guests on the 11-track effort include Diplo, Passion Pit‘s Michael AngelakosCL (from 2NE1), Chance The Rapper and Niki & The Dove, among many others.

And just in case you questioned the dude’s self-awareness, the first track is called “All Is Fair in Love And Brostep.” Recess is supposed to be streaming on iTunes Radio’s “First Play,” but the link sent out from his camp doesn’t seem to be functioning. However, some enterprising fans have already ripped the album to SoundCloud, so you can stream the whole thing below.

Good news for Yeezus fans: there’s plenty of ominous, steroidal dancehall. Bad news for fans of Burial and Skrillex’s Leaving EP: you have to wait until the final track for some subtle electronica.

Recess tracklist: 1. All Is Fair In Love And Brostep with Ragga Twins 2. Recess with Kill The Noise, Fatman Scoop and Michael Angelakos 3. Stranger with KillaGraham from Milo and Otis and Sam Dew 4. Try It Out (Neon Mix) with Alvin Risk 5. Coast Is Clear with Chance The Rapper and The Social Experiment 6. Dirty Vibe with Diplo, G-Dragon from Big Bang and CL from 2NE1 7. Ragga Bomb with Ragga Twins 8. Doompy Poomp 9. Fuck That 10. Ease My Mind with Niki & The Dove 11. Fire Away with Kid Harpoon
