Watch Coldplay Debut “Always In My Head” At SXSW

Coldplay kicked off iTunes Fest SXSW last night (March 11), taking a break from rocking stadiums for an 11-song set at Austin’s Moody Theater. The performance included the live debuts of four songs from the forthcoming Ghost Stories (out May 19), including “Midnight” and “Magic.” And while the whole concert was live-streamed, the only video that has survived this morning is album opener “Always In My Head.”

As with the two prior cuts, this is a subdued one. Unlike those, the straightforward ballad doesn’t delve into atmospheric electronics; instead it’s built around a couple alternating notes on the guitar and a swaying beat. Overall, a pretty innocuous choice for the first track on the LP.

Check it out up top.
