MS MR Robbed In Miami: Gear & Computer With Second Album Material Stolen

The life of a mid-level indie band seems cool and fun — and surely much of it is — but it’s also a completely unglamorous, stressful slog, a thankless existence of night drives, dive bars and stale beer. The latest reminder of that truly shitty side of things happened to MS MR in Miami, where their tour van was robbed last night (March 18). According to tweets from the band and singer Lizzy Plapinger, the perps left with music gear and MS MR’s entire catalog of material.

At 1:15 a.m. this morning, the band tweeted “Miami our van just got robbed!!! anyone happens across any musical gear near Miami beach, plz let us/police know.” That was followed later this morning by a string of posts from a devastated Plapinger, who noted that it was third time the band had been robbed. “EVERYTHING” was taken. Including my computer… w ALL my lyrics, every piece of music I’ve ever written, my iTunes, photos, all working lists/folders for album II,” she wrote. “I feel like part of me is lost forever and I don’t even know how to begin to start moving forward and start over.”

Hopefully some Miami sleuth or Good Samaritan will be able to help out. See the tweets below.
