London Grammar Unveils The Full Version Of “Devil Inside”: Listen To Their INXS Cover

A snippet of London Grammar‘s eerie cover of INXS‘ 1989 hit “Devil Inside” can be heard in the latest Game Of Thrones trailer but the British trio has kindly shared the full version on their SoundCloud. The “Strong” hitmakers transform the moody rock song into a bare-bones ballad that more than does justice to the original.

Opening with Hannah Reid‘s haunting voice hovering over tinkling piano before that sinister guitar riff arrives and the song becomes even more ominous and disconcerting. It’s another great cover from a band that turned Miley Cyrus“Wrecking Ball” into something The xx might release.

Interestingly, INXS is experiencing something of a revival at the moment. A mini-series about late frontman Michael Hutchence was so popular in Australia that the band returned to number one on the album charts and Bruce Springsteen continued the love-fest by covering “Don’t Change” at a recent concert. Listen to London Grammar’s take on “Devil Inside” after the jump.
