The Vamps Cover One Direction’s “Midnight Memories” In Meta UK Boy Band Moment: Watch

What do you do when you’re an on-the-rise British boy band in which each member plays their own instruments and are looking to knock the reigning pack of pop lads off the music throne? Cover one of said currently-ruling boy band’s songs, but one-up them by singing and playing the whole thing note for note, naturally.

Oh, just kidding. We’d never stoop to pitting The Vamps against One Direction like that. Really, we don’t have to, because the vampish pop-rockers throw off enough subtle shade on their own in the above video clip where they cover “Midnight Memories.” (See: that intro where they talk about picking up their first guitar and/or drum kit at a young age.)

What are boy bands, after all, without a bit of friendly rivalry?
