Pharrell Performs “Happy” & “Marilyn Monroe” On ‘Saturday Night Live’: Watch

For his Saturday Night Live set, Pharrell Williams turned out an energetic performance of current chart topper “Happy” with a little help from a youthful crew of backup dancers. They clapped their hands, snapped their fingers, shuffled their feet and even had a mini dance-off in the middle of the song, while Pharrell steered the whole spectacle with his mic in hand and green hat on head.

Oscar winner Hans Zimmer conducted the string section that accompanied Williams on his second song of the night, “Marilyn Monroe.” The only thing missing: Backup vocalist Kelly Osbourne, who appears on the studio version of the track.
