Nicki Minaj Is Not Messing Around On “Chi-Raq” With Lil Herb: Listen

Whew! Nicki Minaj premiered another heater to stoke the flames for The Pink Print. This time it’s “Chi-Raq,” wherein she and newcomer Lil Herb spit hushed fire over a minimal horror movie beat from Boi-1da, Vinylz and Allen Ritter. Whereas the Peter Rosenbergs of the world think Nicki’s pop sensibilities are a liability erasing any of her street cred, Minaj in recent months has made it a point to show that even after “Starships,” she’s still one of the game’s nimblest and meanest MCs.

And on this track she tackles the issue head-on, flaunting her ability to dominate both worlds by silencing critics with lines like “Pussy ass little rap niggas, I fucked with real trap niggas / Pop star, icon, but I send niggas to come snatch niggas.” (The 18-year-old Chicago MC’s verse is hard as fuck, too.)

The best part about Nicki’s 2014 run so far is that it sounds like she hasn’t even broken a sweat yet. Stream “Chi-Raq” below.
