Chloe Howl: 7 Questions About Her ‘Rumour’ EP, Working With Eg White & Her Upcoming Album

For her four-track, hook-laden Rumour EP (grab it on iTunes here), singer Chlöe Howl worked with none other than Eg White, the songwriter who co-penned and produced Adele‘s “Chasing Pavements” (along with many other classic British pop tunes). Nineteen-year-old Howl admits, however, that she wasn’t quite up on White’s pedigree when they sat down to write together.

“He was the first person I’d ever properly written with,” Chlöe told us during a recent visit to the Idolator studio. “It just really worked. And then I Googled him afterwards and I was like, oh, god — he’s a big deal.”

Howl’s mixture of upbeat humor, absolute charm and sharp lyrical ability is evident in songs like “No Strings” (which recently appeared on the Kick Ass 2 soundtrack) and “Girls And Boys” — and even more so in conversation.

Watch above as Chlöe tells us the stories behind some of her songs and explains what it was like to be a teenager growing up in Maidenhead, England. She also drops a few hints about what to expect from her upcoming full-length album.
