Future Islands Remix Little Daylight’s “Overdose”: Listen

Emerging Brooklyn indie-pop trio Little Daylight burst onto our radars late last year with the jubilant “Overdose,” and now the track gets a remix care of the fast-rising, simultaneously bizarre and approachable synth band Future Islands.

Samuel T. Herring’s neatly chaotic vocal theatrics are the initial draw for Future Islands, but without his schizoid singing here they show themselves to be masters of warm synth atmospherics. Channeling ’80s hallmarks like Toto‘s “Africa” and Men At Work‘s “Down Under,” they’ve paired Nikki Taylor’s original floating vocals with some elegant nu-wave cheez.
