Tiesto Follows Up Crossover Pop Hit “Red Lights” With Matthew Koma-Voiced “Wasted”: Listen

Tiesto‘s decision to try his hand at an Avicii-like crossover dance-pop hit turned out to be inspired. “Red Lights” swiftly became the biggest (non-remix) hit of the Dutch DJ’s blockbuster career and is still climbing the Billboard Hot 100. He’s hoping to find similar success with catchy follow-up single “Wasted”, which features the voice of Matthew Koma.

“Wasted” is an even bigger step away from the 45-year-old’s usual hard-hitting trance/electro-house comfort zone. While “Red Lights” crossed over thanks to an exceedingly catchy and commercial topline, its follow-up combines elements from pop, rock and EDM. “I like us better when we’re wasted,” sings Mathew over strummed guitar before the synths arrive. It’s instantly hummable and very radio-friendly, which is the whole point. Listen to Tiesto’s next hit after the jump.
