Coldplay’s “Always In My Head”: Hear The Studio Version Featuring Daughter Apple

Coldplay front man Chris Martin stopped by Zane Lowe‘s BBC Radio 1 show last night (April 28), and when he wasn’t singing the praises of One Direction, Martin premiered Ghost Stories opening track “Always In My Head.”

The band debuted the track live last month at SXSW, but as you can guess, the finished version isn’t as sparse. It begins with a cloud of chants that Martin says was made with synths and his daughter Apple’s voice. Then a soft, Edge-like guitar line kicks in and Martin coos about sleepless nights thinking of “you.” The hushed song seems like it’ll set the tone for the understated proceedings that are to follow on Ghost Stories (out May 19).
