Coldplay’s “A Sky Full Of Stars”: Hear The Massive Second Single From ‘Ghost Stories’

Coldplay have premiered “A Sky Full Of Stars,” the second official single off their forthcoming album Ghost Stories, just a few hours after unveiling the Apple-assisted “Always In My Head.” As with many Coldplay songs, it starts with some muscular piano, but pretty quickly that morphs into a repeating house piano loop, and you can see where it’s all headed: some electronics phasing in and out, some echoing vocals, a blast of percussion at the euphoric crescendo fit for outstretched arms and flashing lasers.

Quite honestly it sounds more like a Zedd or Avicii offering than a Coldplay one, and it’s certainly the loudest and most joyful cut we’ve heard from the album so far.

“A Sky Full Of Stars” will be available for purchase starting Friday, just ahead of the band’s Saturday Night Live stint the next day. Hear it below.
