LIZ’s Pharrell-Produced Jam “That’s My Man”: Listen
LIZ has been busy dealing with “All Them Boys,” but now she has moved on to men, or one at least, on “That’s My Man.” Her new song was produced by Pharrell and appears on the Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack, which is pretty huge for the emerging Mad Decent singer.
As you can guess, with Skateboard P behind the boards, the L.A. singer ditches the late ’90s house-via-Timbaland sonics of her past material, instead laying down her weightless vocals over a bouncy funk beat. But she still stays in her turn-of-the-millennium sweet spot, channeling retro-tinged R&B hits from the ’90s like Faith Evans‘ “Love Like This,” with an added dose of early Aguilera girliness.
