Mariah Carey Was A Very Approachable Chanteuse In New York’s Times Square: 7 Pics

You have to hand it to Mariah Carey. Earlier this week the campaign for her 14th studio album looked dead in the water. Mimi’s plan for a surprise, digital-only release was quickly nixed by her record label and she was left with egg on her face. But then the superstar revealed the LP’s incomprehensibly amazing/awful title and CGI-created cover, and everything changed. Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse has social media buzzing and fans are genuinely excited.

The pop icon is also stepping up her promo game. After covering Billboard and stripping for Terry Richardson (because YOLO), Mariah celebrated the impending album release by taking over Times Square in New York. After casually throwing on a black evening gown and draping herself in diamonds, the “You’re Mine (Eternal)” diva happily mingled with fans. See two videos of the fabulous event after the jump.
