Coldplay Perform “Magic” & “A Sky Full Of Stars” On ‘Saturday Night Live’: Watch

Coldplay are gearing up to release their sixth LP Ghost Stories later this month, and their rollout includes two marquee stops on NBC. There’s an hour-long primetime performance special on the eve of the album’s release , and tonight (May 3) they performed on Saturday Night Live.

For their first song, they performed lead single “Magic,” as expected. We’ve seen quite a few live renditions of it at this point, so there’s not much more to say. The notoriously bad acoustics of the SNL studio were held in check and didn’t hamper the song’s measured build, resulting in another solid rendition.

For song two, they did single two, the euphoric, electronic “A Sky Full Of Stars,” complete with Chris Martin‘s awkward newly-single-guy-just-lettin’-loose dance moves. Check out “Magic” up top and “A Sky Full Of Stars” below.
