Madonna — “Superstar”

Legendary pop mom Madonna is very close to her first born, 17-year-old Lourdes Leon. The pair do everything from designing their Material Girl clothing line together to sharing recording space in the studio. On Madonna’s 2012 album MDNA, Lourdes lends her backing vocals to the shimmering pop tune “Superstar,” and it’s safe to say that talent runs in the family!

Shakira – “The One Thing”

Shakira, the newest mom on the pop star block, gave birth to her son Milan on January 22, 2013. So it was only a matter of time until she penned a song about motherhood. “The One Thing,” off her eponymously titled album released just two months ago, is a guitar-laden mid-tempo dedicated to her one-year-old bundle of joy. The song is very endearing, with Shakira singing, “Every time I see your smile/Every time I hear your laugh/Baby you bring a new sunshine over my way.”

Alicia Keys — “When It’s All Over”

Alicia Keys’ birth to son Egypt back in 2011 gave her a new, fiery confidence that was revealed in her 2012 album Girl On Fire. The album’s third track, “When It’s All Over,” is a musically complex showstopper that is topped off with Egypt’s guest appearance towards the end. Highlight: the adorable babbling dialogue between Keys and her three-year-old.

Mariah Carey — “Love Story”

Before the birth of “Dem Babies” — aka Monroe & Moroccan, who arrived in April 2011 —  Mariah Carey was madly in love with her then-fiance Nick Cannon. The odd couple had no gripes about publicly displaying their affection, including the singer’s OTT video for “Love Story,” from Mimi’s 2008 release E=MC². If you think the video looked cheesy then, just imagine the twins’ faces when their parents bring it up at future family reunions. Yikes!
