Hollywood Records knows a thing or two about launching a pop career. The label has already made magic happen for Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez (among others) and is now hoping to repeat the feat with Shake It Up actress Bella Thorne. The 16-year-old diva unveiled the cover of debut single “Call It Whatever” today (May 12) ahead of its Radio Disney premiere on May 16. (The song hits iTunes on May 17).

Produced by Paro, the eagerly-awaited tune has been labelled “catchy” and “upbeat”. Which coincidentally is exactly how I like my pop music! Bella previously named the artist formerly known as Ke$ha as a major influence, so that’s also very encouraging. The Mickey Finnegan-directed video clip has already been shot and is scheduled to rock VEVO on May 29.
