Miley Cyrus & The Flaming Lips Perform “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” Live: Watch

Back in February, Miley Cyrus invited The Flaming Lips on stage for the first time during a Bangerz tour stop. Cyrus, frontman Wayne Coyne and drummer Steven Drozd performed 2002’s “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Part 1,” twice, because Coyne was apparently drunk.

Last night (May 13) in Manchester, England’s Phones4u Arena, Cyrus invited these two Flaming Lips members on stage again. They decided to perform their cover of The Beatles‘ “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” – not twice, but three times. “You guys gotta pretend like you like it every single time, okay?” Cyrus says. Their performance was being taped, possibly for the Billboard Music Awards, according to Flaming Lips fan site The Future Heart.

Regardless of where it appears, fan footage is worth watching for now. As the crowd bats silver orbs into the air like volleyballs, Cyrus and Coyne performed their faithful cover while wearing confetti-inspired sleeves with leotards, in gold and BODIES: The Exhibition-inspired red.
