‘Annie’ Remake Features Updated Songs By Sia & Greg Kurstin: Listen
Sia, pop’s most in-demand songwriter, has revealed her role in the forthcoming Annie remake (out this Christmas): updating its music.
As she tells fans, Sia’s helped producer Greg Kurstin (Kelly Clarkson, Lily Allen, Pink) with this re-telling’s soundtrack, by revising the lyrics and melodies in particular. And as heard in a new trailer revealed today (May 30), her changes are slight but impactful. For “Hard Knock Life,” she’s tweaked its lyrics to reflect that the remake’s kids are foster kids rather than orphans. Oh, and “We get tricked” gets changed to “We get shit.”
