With the latest season of The Voice now wrapped, longstanding coach Adam Levine and Maroon 5 are getting the campaign for upcoming album V (out September 2) under way. And it turns out the wait for the LP’s lead single “Maps” won’t be too long, as it’s scheduled for a June 16 release on iTunes.

For their first album in two years, M5 worked with such proven hit-makers as Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Shellback, Ryan Tedder and Sam Martin (who is no relation to Max, but, along with said other Martin, co-wrote Maroon 5’s Overexposed hit “Daylight”). “Maps” in particular was produced by Blanco, Tedder and Noel Zancanella (Maroon 5’s “Love Somebody,” OneRepublic‘s “Good Life”).

Meanwhile, Levine will make his feature film debut in Begin Again (in theaters June 27), a musical comedy-drama starring Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo that contains a new composition by the Maroon 5 frontman called “Lost Stars.”
