Jennifer Lopez brought out Ja Rule and paid tribute to Selena Quintanilla-Perez during her June 4 homecoming concert (“The Bronx!”) at Pelham Bay Park’s Orchard Beach. She may be prepping for next week’s release of A.K.A., but during that concert, she was more than aware that fans rode the 6 to see her live – the same subway line referenced in her 1999 debut, On the 6.

Lopez actually brought out several guests during the show: Fat Joe performed the Terror Squad‘s “Lean Back,” while French Montana assisted with A.K.A.‘s “I Luh Ya Papi.” But it was Ja Rule who inspired the loudest cheers, as he strolled on stage to perform his verses from Murder Inc‘s “Ain’t It Funny” and “I’m Real” remixes. The crowd chimed in whenever they could, seen when Lopez sang Selena’s “No Me Queda Más,” off her 1994 and fifth album Amor Prohibido.
