John Legend teamed up with Sugarland vocalist Jennifer Nettles for a country version of number one hit “All Of Me” at the recent CMT Awards (they were accompanied by Hunter Hayes on guitar). It sounded so good that the unlikely trio recorded a studio version, which reinforces the versatility and durability of the blockbuster ballad.

After all, the song has held up equally well as a piano ballad (in its original form) and as a raging house anthem thanks to Tiesto‘s monster remix. The twangy country version turns out to be an unexpected treat. John and Jennifer are well-matched vocally and harmonize seamlessly on the chorus. Hunter’s simple guitar arrangement also works remarkably well. Take a listen after the jump.
