Lana Del Rey Covers ‘Clash’ Magazine, Admits She Considers Quitting Music Every Day

Lana Del Rey covers the ‘American Dream’ issue of Clash magazine with a typically (at least for the Ultraviolence era) lo-fi happy snap that could have been taken in someone’s backyard. Needless to say, the 27-year-old looks absolutely gorgeous, closing her eyes while she soaks up the warm Californian — I’m assuming — sun.

The interview was conducted just after her Coachella performance and she talks about Ultraviolence tracks that have subsequently leaked. One of the most interesting asides is Lana’s confession that she thinks about quitting music every day. “You can make music just for making music,” she admits. “You don’t have to put it on YouTube, and that was definitely a viable option for me.”

“It’s still not really worth all the bullshit,” is her somewhat unsettling conclusion. “Being able to tell my story through music is totally amazing, but that is where it begins and ends.” Much like the doomed characters in her music, the gloomy diva feels that she (or her career) will eventually unravel. “I already know what’s coming. It’s gonna be disastrous on some level, in some way.” Let’s hope she’s mistaken.
