Londoner Jasmine Thompson has more eyes and ears turned her way than most 13 year olds do. The budding singer found fame the way many millennials have in recent years: by posting videos to YouTube — particularly of her singing cover versions of hits by other artists.

In the past year alone, her cover of John Legend‘s “All Of Me” racked up over three million views, while five million tuned in to watch her take on Miley Cyrus“Wrecking Ball.” Outdoing both of those is her rendition of Passenger‘s global Top 10 smash “Let Her Go,” which recently crossed 12 million views. Last fall, the British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s gave Thompson her big break when it chose her cover of Chaka Khan‘s “Ain’t Nobody” for an ad campaign, which propelled Jasmine into the Top 40 on the official UK singles chart.

Today Idolator is premiering an acoustic video for Thompson’s “Drop Your Guard,” the opening track on the young singer’s recently-released sophomore album Another Bundle Of Tantrums. Watch the stripped-down version of the song above.
