Lana Del Rey’s “Flipside” Is Upbeat (By Her Standards): Hear The ‘Ultraviolence’ Bonus Track

The wait for Lana Del Rey‘s Ultraviolence is almost over. The “West Coast” diva’s much-anticipated sophomore set officially hits stores on June 17 and you can buy it in multiple formats. There’s a standard edition, a deluxe for LDR addicts, a vinyl release and the now-obligatory iTunes bonus track. Oh, and there’s even a Target exclusive, which includes an excellent jam called “Flipside”.

“Are you gonna hurt me now or are you gonna hurt me later?” demands the 27-year-old over distorted guitars in the song’s opening verse. It’s a fairly bleak introduction but “Flipside” is positively upbeat in comparison to the LP’s morose title track and melancholy cuts like “Brooklyn Baby”. I live for lo-fi Lana but there’s a fiery quality to the Target exclusive that makes it stand out in a good way. Listen to the gem after the jump.

Is “Flipside” good enough to warrant a trip to Target? Let us know in the comments below.
