If you’re a fan of intense pop with a bit more lyrical depth, a fantastic throwback beat, soaring strings and a whole lot of soul, then you’ll likely dig “Stop The Sky From Falling” by the Leeds, UK-based production trio Deuce & Charger. Featuring Bianca Gerald on vocals and a rap by Weezy Jefferson, “Stop The Sky From Falling” cuts itself from the same emotional cloth as now-classic dance-pop tracks like “Heaven” by Emeli Sande and Massive Attack‘s glorious “Unfinished Sympathy.”

“Leaders come and leaders go on the road of broken promise,” Gerald sings in the video above, giving a dose of ’90s house vocal power amid imagery that features various politicians and scenes of war.

Deuce & Charger say they take their inspiration from such classic pop-soul songs with a message as Marvin Gaye‘s “What’s Going On” and Prince‘s “Sign O’ The Times.” Watch their “Stop The Sky From Falling” video above, and let us know if it moves you below.
