Jennifer Hudson has christened her long-awaited third LP JHUD. Given that it’s the big-lunged diva’s nickname and this is being touted as her most personal offering yet (the impact of Britney Jean), it’s a fitting title. The 32-year-old also uploaded a very promising album sampler today (July 3) that confirms she is, indeed, going for a slinky, retro-R&B sound.

We’ve already heard three songs from JHUD — the Pharrell-produced “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” as well as the Timbaland-helmed “Walk It Out” and questionable R. Kelly-assisted “It’s Your World” — but Jennifer kindly included two new jams in the sampler. “Dangerous” is the pick of the bunch with its tinny ’80s R&B vibe but “He Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere” gives her more opportunity to use those powerful pipes. Listen to the songs after the jump.

Is JHUD a good name for Jennifer’s new album? Let us know in the comments below.
