Ryan Tedder, hitmaker and OneRepublic producer/frontman, has helped One Direction with a song called “Got Away” for his upcoming fourth album. This news, as reported by The Sun, confirms months of rumors that the pop forces hit the studio together.

“It sounds completely generic to say, but I’m always impressed or extremely happy when I end up in the same room with a band who are at the stage of nuclear explosion in their career and they’re so normal it almost turns you off,” Tedder said of the UK boy band to The Guardian last spring. “”Like, how are you not more messed up right now? I’m looking for syringes, where are they?”

One Direction started talking of their fourth album even before they dropped Midnight Memories last fall. The boy bvand members have since since hit the studio with Emeli Sande, Naughty Boy, Good Charlotte, Kodaline and pop-punk band McFly, although they’ve yet to announce a release date.

Meanwhile, Tedder has written two songs for Ariana Grande‘s My Everything and one song for Taylor Swift‘s follow-up to 2012’s Red.
