Jhene Aiko’s Debut LP ‘Souled Out’ Gets A Release Date

After scoring a slow-burning hit earlier this year from her Sail Out EP with “The Worst” and premiering the slinky lead single “To Love & Die,” moody alt-R&B chanteuse Jhene Aiko‘s debut album is finally sailing onto our iPods next month.

Souled Out, which is set to include production from No I.D., Key Wane, Fisticuffs, James Fauntleroy, and Dot Da Genius — will arrive on August 25, according to Rap-Up.

“The sound is different in the sense that the music is more intricate and there are live instruments. I feel like everything is on another level. It’s deeper,” she told us in an interview back in December about her upcoming LP.

Unfortunately, Jhene’s got some pretty strong competition when it comes to the charts: “Break Free” mini-diva Ariana Grande‘s feature-filled sophomore record My Everything is set to be released on the same day. But then again, who cares? A Jhene record is (finally) coming soon, and that’s all that matters.
