New York femcee Azealia Banks is officially out of her record deal with Universal Music — and immediately took to the Twittersphere to tell everyone about it. The Yung Rapunxel has been begging to leave the label for quite some time and, according to The Guardian, used Twitter to tell other labels like Sony and XL to buy out her album contract.

“I’m really in hell here,” Azaelia tweeted back in January.  “Universal needs to just hand me over to another label who knows what to do with me … I’m tired of having to consult a group of old white guys about my black girl craft. They don’t even know what they’re listening for or to.”

Her pleas have now been answered, and maybe we can finally hear from some tunes from her much-awaited debut LP, Broke With Expensive Taste. Read her tweets of elation after the jump.
