Kesha Details New Song “Child Of The Moon”

Kesha continued to open up about her past eating disorder and resulting rehab stint in the latest issue of Teen Vogue. Prior to the cover story interview, though, her mind was on music. “I was writing a song called ‘Child of the Moon’ in the car before you got here,” she said to the reporter. “It has a Stevie Nicks-witchy vibe. I’m making songs that are really weird, and they make me happy again.”

The pop star and Rising Star judge talked “Child of the Moon,” in efforts to reassure Animals that, even after omitting the dollar sign from her moniker, growing up in the traditional sense (read: settling down) doesn’t interest her. “I’m not going to be making a lullaby jazz record,” she said to Teen Vogue. “My music will always have balls until I’m a 85-year-old crazy granny, so don’t be worried about that.”

While Teen Vogue posted a snippet of Kesha’s cover story, one devoted Animal has since posted a scan of where she talks “Child of the Moon” and her earliest musical ambitions. (Turns out, she first wanted to be a girly version of the Beastie Boys— amazing.) Check out the scan at ATRL.
