Rita Ora Stars In DKNY’s ‘My NY’ Fragrance Ad: Watch

Rita Ora struts through busy New York streets in the debut ad for DKNY’s new fragrance, MY NY. As the face of the fragrance, the pop star does her part in convincingly turning the city into her own personal runway – an interesting feat, given that Ora was born in Kosovo and raised in the UK, as her accent makes clear.

“I moved to NYC when I was 17 and began this new chapter in my life,” Ora said to WWD. “I’m never going to forget New York because my career started in the city. New York has always been a fairy tale to me.” She’s referring to the time when Jay Z signed her to Roc Nation, within just 48 hours of flying her out to New York.

Rita Ora talks how Jay Z discovered her:

“If Rita can’t sell it, I don’t know who can,” DKNY creator Donna Karan says, adding, “She’s full of life, she’s about what everyone wants to feel — energy. And I find her ageless.”

Perhaps that quality is why Ora is also the face for fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, as confirmed just a few days ago with a new commercial. Conveniently, that ad featured a compelling reminder of why Ora initially pursued stardom: music. In the new Cavalli ad, she teases a new Prince-penned single, “The Single Most Amazing.”
