Sam Smith Announces New Single, “I’m Not The Only One”: Listen

Sam Smith is completely and utterly crushing it this summer, having already rocketed straight to the top of the charts in both the UK and stateside (a record-breaking debut!) with his critically acclaimed debut studio album, In The Lonely Hour. (Yes, we loved it too.) At the same time, his latest heart-wrenching single “Stay With Me” continues to sit pretty at Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

And he’s not stopping there, either: Today, the UK soul-pop singer announced the latest single from his debut LP: “I’m Not The Only One,” due out on August 31 in the UK and, presumably, making its way stateside sometime later in the year.

Like much of Smith’s work, the piano-led, marching midtempo is an aching case of unrequited love — or, at least, the ache of not being the only love. “When you call me baby, I know I’m not the only one,” he devastatingly croons.
