Happy Friday, Idolator Readers! In light of the much awaited weekend, let’s take a look back at the crazy pop-filled week that was.

For starters, Beyonce premiered her stunning remix for “Flawless,” which not only featured a menacing verse from rapstress Nicki Minaj, but also awoke the beast within Brooklyn’s own Lil Kim, who served up a one-two punch shade-a-thon against the “Anaconda” diva.

Adam Lambert  took to Twitter to discuss cultural appropriation, Rita Ora flashed her boobs in front of the whole of Los Angeles and the ever-elusive Mariah Carey posed for the cover of Turkey’s first ever gay magazine GayMag. Still not enough?

Here on Idolator, we not only premiered Colbie Callait’s “The Way I Was” from The Walking Dead soundtrack and hip-hop duo Aer’s video for “Pretty Lady,” but also sat down with UK soulstress Laura Welsh to talk about her upcoming album, as well as working with Gorgon City and Dev Hynes.

As per usual, you guys had plenty to say. Read some of this week’s best comments below.

:: Matt D was all about Beyonce’s “Flawless” Remix on Beyonce & Nicki Minaj’s “Flawless” Remix: Listen: “HELL YES! THIS is my new jam, BEY x Nicki is FLAWLESSSSSS.”

:: Artisfreedom thought Lil’ Kim was the weakest link on Lil’ Kim Disses Nicki Minaj On Her Own Version Of Beyonce’s “Flawless” Remix: Listen: “I’m all about some female rappers…Nicki, Azealia, Brooke Candy, Angel Haze, Missy, Eve…hell even Iggy….but Lil’ Kim, you are the weakest link. GOODBYE”

:: Likewise, drew thought that Lil Kim’s rebuttal was much ado about nothing: “I think this is one of the weakest verses Kim has ever spit. I’m a classicalist myself when it comes to female rap, but this is NOT a reclaiming of the throne. More like crawling around in it.(She rhymed ‘here’ with ‘here’ like 8 times, talking about “I’m so awesome!” over and over?)I AM SO BORED WITH THIS.”

:: With the return of Azealia Banks, LovenMusic told everyone to forgot Nicki Minaj on Azealia Banks’ “Heavy Metal And Reflective” Video: Watch Her Wreak Havoc In The Desert: “The song is pure fire. Anaconwho????”

:: Shanghaikid43 also thinks that Azealia is on top of her game: “As much as I’ve come to dislike her recently, gotta say this is the best thing she’s released in a while. Maybe she can actually get her act together and release an album?”

:: HMoon lauded Colbie on Colbie Caillat’s “The Way I Was” From ‘The Walking Dead: Songs Of Survival, Vol. 2′: Idolator Premiere: “Have always loved Colbie and am a huge Walking Dead fan.. great stuff!”

:: john kept his sentiments short and sweet on Nicki Minaj Covers ‘FADER’ Magazine, Talks ‘The Pink Print’, Mixtape Days & BET Awards Speech: 6 Pics: “crusty.”

:: musicmandave remembered the late Michael Johns on ‘American Idol’ Finalist Michael Johns Dies At 35: “Michael Johns will always be remembered. Heart On My Sleeve will always stand out as his finest. Rest in peace buddy! 08/01/14.”

:: Helen was not impressed Goldfrapp’s “Laurel” video on Goldfrapp’s “Laurel” Video: Idolator Premiere: “As dreary as the album itself. Extreme close ups and shallow depth-of-field as an excuse for lack of imagination. then again, the song is like that so maybe it’s a perfect reflection of the music. The whole lot are just terribly tedious and self-indulgent.”

:: federico, however, begged to differ: “feel the music or not or a little. for this there is not much explanation. is tedious for you and for me is fantastic, so real it seems fake, mist beauty, birds and the creation of the human voice. love goldfrapp.”

:: Chris defended Kanye’s latest rant on Kanye West Declares He’s “The Smartest Celebrity,” Shades Britney Spears In Court Deposition: “Ugh, I love Kanye! He’s outrageous and hilarious at the same time, but he does have a point. Black people had to change the n-word into a term of endearment, so, (you know) certain people don’t get a free pass or else we’re going back into the old days. He’s clearly not stupid, perhaps misunderstood.”

:: Jennifer Elizabeth completely agreed with Adam Lambert on Adam Lambert Addresses Cultural Appropriation In Music: “This Whole Debate Is So 20 Years Ago!”:: “I agree with what he says here. I think it’s a valid discussion to be having, and some performers take it too far and comes off as ignorant and hurtful, but I think people (especially “the internet”) can jump on things too quickly and call offence when it really isn’t warranted. I think Adam’s words here are lovely and show that he lives this kind of optimistic, hopeful way with others who have been able to move past a focus on difference. If something is done in a respectful way with a nod to others in an appreciative manner, I think that’s fine..”

:: Andy Meier gave the Notorious K.I.M a wake-up call on Lil’ Kim’s “Identity Theft”: Listen To Queen Bee Come For Nicki Minaj For The 2nd Time This Week: “Bitch needs to realize that NOBODY cares about any song she makes any more, especially when she slaps them together and can’t even keep it going for more than two and a half minutes. It’s honestly embarrassing for her. Nicki is sitting pretty with a couple songs in the top 10 on iTunes (at #2 and 3 at the moment) laughing all the way to the bank.”
